The Balancing Act

This was a presentation on how to best manage work/life balance. The presentation was led by our members Sydney Kronrad, Jasmin Davis and Joanne Tran. The event was open to all alumnae and we had about 15 sisters in attendance! It was a very interactive workshop and the presenters used the presentation software Mentimeter as well as the zoom polling and chat features to get optimal participation from attendees. The workshop started with a poll on the type of industry we work in and then transitioned to a discussion on if we all thought our work/lives were balanced. The presentation taught valuable tips and tricks to how to best balance work/life in our new normal and ended with some great strategies including effective time management using the "Rock, Pebbles, Sand Jar" analogy. Overall it was a great event and allowed the chapter to interact with alumnae who weren't part of the IG.

Spooktacular Trivia Night

On a cold spooky Night...

The Northeast Alumnae interest group decided to take a break from the traditional scares of the pandemic to meet for the start of a new tradition.

Thus the Spooktacular event was born.

Sisters agreed to host a small Halloween event. The goal was for sisters to get to know each other and share some Halloween facts.

Participants were encouraged to dress in costume using the materials available at home. They submitted questions and fun facts for the game using Kahoot. The prize winner for the game and the costume contest would each win a 5 dollar gift card.

Taylor won the costume event with her homemade superwoman cape.

Tracy won the game event with her vast knowledge of sorority and Halloween facts.

Some of the other costumes that appeared were a shark, a cat, and the all-natural quarantine costume. In between games, sisters got a chance to talk about their weeks and share some fun memories from their undergraduate years.

Overall, the event was a success and welcome fun. It will be a staple event that we want to host next Halloween.
